Ofsted Report

23rd Apr 2021

Dear Parent(s) and Carers,
Please find attached our latest Ofsted report. As this was an extra monitoring visit, it is a shorter report than usual, so I thought I would share some of the positive feedback, which didn't make it into the report.

Curriculum work: Prior to the pandemic the school had been working on the curriculum.
Subject leaders have made a strong start. They are ambitious and not complacent about their subject. Subject leaders are able to talk about their subject with intelligence and have given a lot of thought to it.
The EYFS leader can speak with confidence about how their curriculum is linked to KS1.

Parent's views: The comments from Parent View were positive and 99% of parents would recommend the school to others. One comment from a parent thanked the staff for all of their hard work during lockdown.

Reading: The reading lead was clear about where the children are. She could list a range of activities that are in place but, more importantly, could talk about why they are in place and the impact they are having. The reading leads were very strategic and the priority is catch up.
The school haven’t left it until the children were back in school to find out where they are at. Reading continued throughout lockdown.
High quality texts are used and children enjoy being read to.
Monitoring the impact of reading is effective.

The school has accepted any advice and improvements have been made.

This feedback, along with the short report, means that we continue to be on track to becoming a 'good' school.

Mr Tew
